Pasture Grown Beef

Our herd of lawnmowers gracefully eat everything in sight given half the chance, including the garden. The lawnmowers are Droughtmaster cross and moved to fresh pasture several times a week depending on seasonal growth, working in harmony with our chickens and pigs. This constant herd impact and recovery allows full usage of the land to build soil and improve fertility.

The herd spends May to July in the orchard. At the end of the persimmon season as the nets are removed our herd is sent in to clean up and mow down the grasses preparing the orchard for pruning. It’s like ice-cream for cows.
